Maximizing Eye Exams

Eye exams are a routine feature of a thorough physical examination. Most clinics have ophthalmoscopes and other tools dedicated to identifying ocular problems; however, these instruments and their use can be difficult and finicky. Resistant patients can make the task even more challenging. In this presentation, we will discuss how to perform a detailed ocular exam, utilize the tools at your disposal, and tips on improving your eye exam and diagnostic skills.

Dr. Andrew Rogen is a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and owner of Vet Eye Pros. Andrew graduated from South Dakota State University prior to receiving a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in 2015. He then completed both a small animal general internship and ophthalmology specialty internship in Oregon. Dr. Rogen completed a three-year comparative ophthalmology residency program at Eye Care for Animals and attained board certification from the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2020. Andrew is excited to share his ophthalmology knowledge and tips on how to improve eye care for your veterinary patients.
