The MVMA has an advocacy program that actively monitors state and federal legislation. The MVMA employs skilled lobbyists in the state to support needed legislation or fend against harmful legislation.

After years of hard work at the legislature, we are proud to say that the Vet Tech Licensure Bill passed through both the House and Senate and was signed into law by Governor Walz in May 2024. The legislation will take effect in 2026.
