MVMA Summer Seminar in Duluth - Behavior Techniques to Improve Outcomes from the Exam Room to the Living Room with Dr. Chris Pachel 

Dr. Pachel received his veterinary degree from the University of MN in 2002 and worked as a general practitioner for two years in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area prior to the start of his behavior residency program. He operated a house-call behavior practice in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area until 2010 and became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in 2010. He spent 3.5 years of his residency period under the mentorship of Jacqui Neilson, DVM, DACVB at the Animal Behavior Clinic in Portland, OR before purchasing the practice from her in 2011.

MVMA Academy Seminar - Nutrition Education: Something to Chew On with Dr. Deborah Linder 

Deborah E. Linder is a board-certified veterinary nutritionist at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, where she also earned her DVM. Dr. Linder's interests include obesity management, effective client education and human-animal interaction. She has spoken at national and international conferences, and has had articles appear in Eating Well, the Boston Globe, AARP, SHAPE, and XM Sirius Radio Doctor Channel. Her current research focuses on safe and effective weight loss strategies for pets as well as the effect of obesity on pet and human well-being. She is also Associate Director of the Tufts Institute for Human-Animal Interaction.

MVMA Fall Staff Seminar - Dentistry: Take Your Practice to the Next Level with Dr. John Lewis 

Dr. John Lewis obtained his BS from Bucknell University in 1993 and his VMD from University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He spent 5 years in general practice prior to returning to Penn for a residency in dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Lewis became a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (AVD) in 2004 and a diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) in 2005. Dr. Lewis rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery, residency director and Chief of Surgery. Dr. Lewis’ interests include oral surgical oncology, maxillofacial fracture repair, maxillofacial reconstruction, new therapies for treatment of feline oral squamous cell carcinoma, and lasers in oral surgery and dentistry. Dr. Lewis is Past President of the American Veterinary Dental Society, and Editor of the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Lewis performs Dentistry and Oral Surgery at NorthStar VETS in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

  • Contact the MVMA at 651-645-7533 if you have specific dietary needs.
  • Proceedings will be available to all attendees.
  • We offer 6-7 credits for each seminar.
  • Cancellation requests must be received at least 48 hours prior to the seminar for a refund - a fee of 10% is nonrefundable.

Webinar Registration Option:

You have the option to attend most MVMA Seminars on that day beginning at 9:00 am CST from anywhere you have an internet connection! Choose the "webinar" option when you register and you will be emailed the secure internet link to attend the live session prior to the seminar. Only the purchaser will have access with this link as the attendees are monitored and sign in with their name. The webinar will only be available during the live presentation, it will not be offered at a later time/date.

What will you experience: once you have accessed the webinar your computer screen will be dominated with a direct-feed PowerPoint for clarity of viewing, plus the audio of speaker as the slides automatically advance on your screen. A small video window on the side of your screen will show the speaker presenting. The live Q&A session will be simulcast also and you will be able to send questions from your screen options if you wish. 

We suggest connecting to an ethernet/hard wire for the best connection and to avoid voice skipping and delayed interactions.
