Cutting edge cancer research

Started in 1942 by Jay C. Hormel, The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota has a seven-decade history of making significant scientific discoveries aimed at improving the health of the world. For the past 20 years, The Hormel Institute has targeted its cutting-edge research on better ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer. Our group of highly successful medical scientists are focused on determining cancer’s basic molecular mechanisms to develop new anti-cancer agents. They share their discoveries globally by being published in leading scientific journals. The Hormel Institute tripled in size in 2008 and is now is on the verge of a second transformative expansion, opening its newest additions in early 2016 that will double the size of its research facilities and overall employment.

“The Hormel Institute continues to make progress against cancer through our cutting-edge research involving world-class scientists, state-of-the-art technology and global collaborators. Together, we are finding answers to cancer.”
