Cancellations & Refunds
No refunds after January 16th, 2023. Refunds are made only if the registrant has contacted the MVMA office in writing requesting reimbursement prior to January 16th. A 10% handling fee is assessed for refunds. Registrations are non-transferable. MVMA will not offer refunds due to an attendee’s inability to attend the meeting due to weather conditions.

Onsite registration will be located at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and be open the following hours:

  • Wednesday, February 1st, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
  • Thursday, February 2nd, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Friday, February 3rd, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Saturday, February 4th, 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

Wellness Center
In May the CDC and ACIP released official updated guidance on Rabies Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). Changes include:

  • Redefined risk categories (most veterinary personnel are Category 3)
  • New minimum antibody titer (0.5 IU/mL replaces “complete neutralization of rabies virus at 1:5 serum dilution”)
  • Type of titer tests (any titer test is ok)
    • The RFFIT (Rapid Fluorescent Foci Inhibition Test) is no longer the only accepted test. Medical professionals can order the much less expensive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) test, which is offered by many commercial laboratories.
    • No routine antibody titer checks required for most veterinary personnel

Going forward for veterinary personnel who have already received a three vaccine rabies pre-exposure series or who have ever received the full post-exposure series, there is nothing more you need to do! This is true no matter how long it has been since you were last vaccinated for rabies. 

Therefore, the MVMA will no longer be hosting the Wellness Center at the Annual Meeting.
